All I Needed Was a Little Perspective

It's been a month since I've last posted and I left it on such a sad note. So a quick update, and back to quilting. Through the advice of a trusted nephew/BMW mechanic, I took the car to a recommended mechanic who looked the transmission over and determined that nothing was wrong with the transmission at all, just an exceptionally hot summer and too much stop and go driving.  We're back to using a car again and all is back to normal.

The creative muse returned and a trial attempt at a bargello background was successful.  The next steps are to finish up the color patterns and sew it all together.  After that, I plan to add additional details with hidden applique items to complete the vision.

I also finished up my entry into the Another Little Quilt Swap #7, a 12" finished quilt. I am entering my block, "Coffee with Vincent", a tribute to Vincent Van Gogh's still life, "Blue Enamel Coffeepot, Earthenware and Fruit". So far, it's turning into a very nice Labor Day Weekend.

  3. I am beyond flabergasted...that the other mechanic was going to charge you so much money for work that didn't need to be done in the first place. I'm sure you are thankful that you took it for another opinion.

Glad you are back to sewing. I'm hope you have fun in the coming weeks creating lots of goodies.

    1. Yeah I know. My suspicions were raised when he dropped the price to $2,000 after I told him my son and I would be using public transportation until January 2013 in order to save up the money.

It is good to be back to sewing, thanks!
